The Fitness Captain will lead and support a team of group fitness professionals across Bass Coast Aquatic & Leisure Centre and Phillip Island Leisure Centre, ensuring the delivery of outstanding customer service.
They will oversee the group fitness areas and classes, ensuring they are consistently presented to the highest standards. The role also involves supporting membership growth and retention by fostering a motivating, energetic environment that helps members achieve their fitness goals.
The Fitness Captain may from time to time be required to undertake other tasks as directed by the Fitness Lead.
Specifically this role is responsible for:
Supervision and direction of all health and fitness staff.
Delivery of health, fitness and wellness programs in accordance with annual plans.
Day to day operations of the Health Club at the leisure centres.
Setting of rosters within agreed annual budgets.
Oversee the personal training program throughout the council.
Provide professional fitness instruction to all members and guests.
Support the Fitness Lead in the delivery of health and fitness programs in accordance with annual plans.
Oversee the operation of the gymnasium.
Desired Skills and Experience
Requirements
Experience in fitness leadership
Fitness Australia certified
Certificate 3 in Fitness or equivalent
Current First Aid and CPR certificate
The position will be subject to relevant pre-employment checks such as a Police Check and must maintain a current working with children check
