Job Description
The Pool Captain will manage the day-to-day operation of the Moruya War Memorial Swimming Pool throughout the operational season. They are ultimately responsible for the safety and experience of all staff and customers and the financial performance of the facility. They have the authority to make the necessary decisions to ensure the highest levels of safety and customer experience are maintained at all times.
They will be a visible leader of this important community facility throughout summer, take pride in managing such an important community asset and ensure it is presented immaculately and maintained to the highest standards at all times.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facility Management:
Prepare the pool for the summer season and close it down at the end of the season.
Coordinate rosters and manage day-to-day staff operations.
Oversee stock control and staff training.
Provide monthly performance reports.
Daily Operations:
Conduct regular walkthroughs to ensure cleanliness, safety, and service quality.
Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with user groups.
Supervise and educate staff on service delivery.
Ensure timely opening, operation, and transition of the facility.
Aquatic Supervision and Safety:
Implement best practices for aquatic supervision to minimize risks and maximize customer satisfaction.
Ensure all lifeguards are trained and the facility complies with safety legislation.
Health and Safety:
Monitor compliance with Occupational Health and Safety policies.
Conduct hazard inspections and implement corrective actions.
Oversee facility evacuation procedures and investigate incidents.
Customer Service:
Deliver outstanding service and memorable experiences.
Uphold Aligned Leisure's customer charter and service promise.
The Moruya Pool Captain may from time to time be required to undertake other tasks as directed by the Head of Facilities & Safety. This position will also undertake regular Duty Captain and/or Lifeguard shifts and must be available to work throughout the operational period of the seasonal aquatic facilities
Desired Skills and Experience
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
Pool Operation Certificate (preferred, but not essential)
Previous experience in customer service
The position will be subject to relevant pre-employment checks and must maintain a current working with children check
The successful applicant must hold or be willing to attain Pool Lifeguard, first aid and CPR qualifications
