Aligned Leisure is a 100% owned subsidiary of the Richmond Football Club, established as a vehicle to manage the operations of Richmond’s health, fitness and leisure business activities. Supported by the people and business systems of the Richmond Football Club, Aligned Leisure currently operates 53 leisure centres, community stadiums, pools, gyms, skate parks, gymnastics programs, theatres and other facilities throughout Victoria and New South Wales.

POSITION PURPOSE:
The Head of Fitness & Community Engagement will lead a team of fitness professionals and community engagement experts to deliver exceptional service to our customers and community by helping them to set and achieve their personal health and wellness goals, and driving key objectives of the Eurobodalla Strategic Framework.
By staying abreast of important industry innovations and technological advancements in health, fitness and community programming, the Head of Fitness & Community Engagement will assist in maximising participation across our suite of healthy products and services, and community initiatives and events.
An important member of the Leadership Team, they will work within and outside the ‘four walls’ to best utilise community assets to deliver on important Council plans.
This position will work relentlessly to implement the Aligned Leisure purpose of CONNECTING TO THRIVE AND WIN, values of AWARE, DISCIPLINED, RELENTLESS and UNITED, and associated behaviours throughout the entire team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Service delivery for all fitness programs at the Bay Pavilions and satellite locations
• Recruitment, supervision and performance management of all health, fitness and community engagement staff.
• Delivery of health, fitness and wellness programs in accordance with annual plans.
• Management of the gymnasium at the Bays Pavilion.
• Management of the group fitness programs and timetabling across all locations.
• Management of fitness equipment agreements.
• Oversight of 24/7 and virtual fitness products.
• Ensure Age Friendly fitness and social programs are delivered.
• Manage all areas within agreed annual budgets.
• Provide regular fitness information for all Eurobodalla Shire communication channels.
2. Development of personal training program and suppliers
• Oversee the personal training program throughout the Shire.
• Manage all personal training agreements, including compliance.
• Support the development of personal training program for all agreements.
• Maximise revenue generated through personal training.
3. Fitness product development to keep pace with latest industry trends
• Maintain an expert level of knowledge of latest industry trends.
• Lead and educate staffing teams on fitness trends and information.
• Provide appropriate fitness innovations to inform annual program, service and asset planning.
• Identify opportunities to educate and communicate with our members using emerging technology/data solutions.
• Be the face of all public fitness and community engagement information within Eurobodalla.
4. Support the delivery of the Eurobodalla Strategic Framework
• Oversee the Community Programs Officers in the delivery of the Framework.
• Where required, personally facilitate programs and events identified as part of the Framework.
5. Member of the Eurobodalla Leadership Team
• Role model our values, behaviours and service standards, instil this model throughout the organisation, and ensure that all new staff understand this expectation.
• At all times act in the best interests of Aligned Leisure and Eurobodalla Shire Council.
6. Outstanding service delivery to all customers and stakeholders
• Aligned Leisure will be renowned for delivering outstanding service and providing memorable experiences for our customers. This role will be relentless in identifying these opportunities and will always ask “How would I want a member of my family treated in this situation?”.
• All Aligned Leisure staff will understand and deliver on our customer charter and service promise.
The Head of Fitness & Community Engagement may from time to time be required to undertake other tasks as directed by the Eurobodalla Arts & Leisure Manager. The Department Head will also undertake regular gym floor shifts.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience in fitness management
2. Experience in health promotion/public health field
3. Experience in program design and delivery
4. Demonstrated experience in identifying and building effective partnerships with key stakeholders
5. Certificate IV in Fitness or equivalent
6. The position will be subject to relevant pre-employment checks and must maintain a current working with children check
7. The successful applicant must hold or be willing to attain first aid and CPR qualifications
