Job Description

The Centre Manager will manage the day-to-day operation of Olive Road Sporting Complex . They are ultimately responsible for the safety and experience of all staff and customers of the facility. They have the authority to make the necessary decisions to ensure the highest levels of safety and customer experience are always maintained.

They will be a visible leader of this important community facility and take pride in managing such an important community asset and ensure it is presented immaculately and always maintained to the highest standards.

This position will work relentlessly to implement the Aligned Leisure purpose of CONNECTING TO THRIVE AND WIN, values of AWARE, DISCIPLINED, RELENTLESS and UNITED, and associated behaviours throughout the entire team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Centre Management and Operation

  • Coordinate with the Manager Stadiums to formulate Duty Manager, Customer Experience Officers and Stadium Supervisor Rosters.
  • Point of contact for staff working within the facility.
  • Manage staff day to day operations.
  • Manage staff training and inductions.
  • Provide monthly reports to the Manager Stadiums on facility performance.
  • Provide regular facility information for Olive Road Sporting Complex on all communication channels.

Daily operation of the centre

  • Conduct regular internal and external facility walkthroughs demonstrating leadership and monitoring cleanliness, presentation, service quality and safety.
  • Always ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and presentation, especially in areas such as change rooms.
  • Liaise with user groups and service delivery staff to direct and coordinate, ensuring the facility is set up for programs as required.
  • Staff leadership and supervision across the entire service delivery team.
  • Ensure compliance to all shift checklists.
  • Coordination of staff rosters, breaks and changes.
  • Educate all staff on shift activities to ensure they are prepared to deliver the best possible service.
  • Ensure the facility opens on time and programs start on time.
  • Transition facility management to the next Duty Captain or ready for the following day.
  •  Ensure all reports, checklists and procedures are completed and signed off.

Asset management and facility presentation

  • Oversee the facility cleaning, addressing compliance daily through the Duty Captain structure and processes.
  • Ensure all staff, led by the Duty Captain, understand that everyone is responsible for delivering the highest standards of facility cleanliness and presentation.
  • Liaise directly with appointed Council Officers as required for asset and maintenance issues.
  • Have a thorough understanding of all relevant contract requirements of Aligned Leisure.
  • Conduct regular facility audits and review audits and checklists completed by others for all facilities.
  • Troubleshoot operating systems and equipment as required.

Facility Bookings

  • Ensure accurate and timely bookings information is maintained for both customers and staff across the leisure facilities.
  • Develop strong operational relationships with all key user groups ensuring up to date and accurate bookings occur at all times.
  • Maintain up to date databases and contact information for all user groups and ensure regular and timely communication is implemented across the community.
  • Maintain up to date user agreements with all relevant supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all relevant internal accounts receivable and invoicing processes are completed in line with Finance departments timelines and systems.
  • Ensure all user group outstanding debt is managed, collected, and received.

Health and Safety of all staff and customers

  • Maintain an understanding of all relevant aspects of the Occupational Health and Safety and Environmental Management Systems.
  • Implement and monitor compliance to policies and procedures.
  • Implement and document hazard and environment inspections, risk assessments, risk controls and corrective actions.
  • Ensure health and safety is discussed with all staff, on every shift. • Oversee the evacuation of the facility in accordance with procedures as required.
  • Investigate all incidents and implement actions to prevent reoccurrence, maintaining written records.
  • Risk assess work instructions to identify any hazards and act to rectify any identified risks.
  • Ensure the dissemination of OHS, Risk and Environment information to staff relevant to their roles and responsibilities.
  • Ensure all employees and contractors are inducted and receive regular training as required.

Outstanding service delivery to all customers and stakeholders

  • Aligned Leisure will be renowned for delivering outstanding service and providing memorable experiences for our customers. This role will be relentless in identifying these opportunities and will always ask “How would I want a member of my family treated in this situation?”
  • All Aligned Leisure staff will understand and deliver on our customer charter and service promise. The Centre Manager will also undertake regular Duty Captain shifts and must be available to work a mixture of early morning, daytime, evening and weekend hours.

The Centre Manager may from time to time be required to undertake other tasks as directed by the Manager Stadiums.

 

Desired Skills and Experience

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. Previous experience in customer service
  2. The position will be subject to relevant pre-employment checks and must maintain a current working with children check
  3. The successful applicant must hold or be willing to attain first aid and CPR qualifications
