Job Description

About the role 

The People & Compliance Coordinator will ensure the efficient administration of people, compliance and contract functions for Aligned Leisure in all departments and locations within Yarra Ranges Council. You will ensure adherence to legislation, contracts and policy, working collaboratively with all stakeholders. With support from the Richmond Football Club People & Culture team, you will oversee all people systems, recruitment, onboarding, rostering, time and attendance, payroll and qualifications. As a member of the contract leadership team  

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to: 

  • Coordinating end‑to‑end HR administration including recruitment, induction, talent development, wellbeing programs, rostering, time and attendance, payroll processes, and maintenance of training and qualification records 

  • Ensuring all people‑related documentation and processes comply with legislation, contracts, and policies, while communicating key milestones and managing traineeships or placements 

  • Supporting culture development by leading reward and recognition, managing staff communications, and overseeing engagement surveys 

  • Administering contract compliance by maintaining a strong understanding of obligations, documenting milestones, managing correspondence with Council partners, and coordinating monthly reporting 

  • Providing administrative support to the Leisure Manager and contributing to the leadership team by modelling organisational values, behaviours, and service standards 

  • Overseeing all elements of performance management across the contract 

  • Leading and upholding outstanding customer service delivery by championing the customer charter and service standards 

Desired Skills and Experience

About you 

To succeed in the People & Compliance Coordinator role, you’ll need: 

  • 2–3 years’ relevant experience in HR or the leisure industry, along with strong organisation, attention to detail 

  • A friendly, enthusiastic style that builds strong relationships, paired with creativity, energy and the ability to motivate others 

  • Tertiary qualifications in HR, Business, Finance or equivalent are advantageous but not essential 

  • A valid First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain both
