Job Description
About the role
We are seeking an experienced leader to be our next Leisure Manager. Our leader will be people focused and share our values to lead and manage the dynamic and vibrant Yarra Ranges leisure facilities. To assist you in your role, you will be provided with a car allowance, phone reimbursements, a laptop and all the support you need from our senior leadership team.
As Leisure Manager, you will be to lead all aspects of Aligned Leisure’s operation in Yarra Ranges Council. You will be responsible for maintaining an outstanding relationship with the Council and ensuring that all operational plans align with essential Council strategies.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
Lead staff and senior managers to deliver Council objectives, ensuring teams are trained, supported, supervised, and aligned with Aligned Leisure’s purpose, values, and standards
Oversee compliance with all legislation, regulations, policies, contracts, and reporting requirements
Build and maintain strong community relationships that support Aligned Leisure’s partnership with Yarra Ranges Council
Implement operational plans, budgets, financial controls, and reporting to meet or exceed financial targets
Drive customer acquisition and retention initiatives, increasing participation and visitation across all facilities
Manage facility assets in line with contract requirements and industry best practice, including Yarra Centre (Yarra Junction), Monbulk Aquatic Centre (Monbulk) Jack Hort Memorial Community Pool (Healesville) and seasonal pools in Belgrave, Healesville & Lilydale

Desired Skills and Experience
About you
To succeed in the Leisure Manager role, you’ll need:
5+ years’ experience in large or multisite aquatic, fitness or leisure management, with strong customer service and stakeholder management capability.
Proven ability to manage competing demands, deadlines and complex operational environments.
Demonstrated skill in coaching, mentoring and developing staff, with a commitment to continuous learning.
Solid financial management experience, including operational budgeting and performance oversight.
Tertiary qualifications in Business, Sport, Fitness, Theatre, Arts or similar (advantageous but not essential).
A valid First Aid and CPR certification, or willingness to obtain both
