Aligned Leisure is a 100% owned subsidiary of the Richmond Football Club, established as a vehicle to manage the operations of Richmond’s health, fitness and leisure business activities. Supported by the people and business systems of the Richmond Football Club, Aligned Leisure currently operates 53 leisure centres, community stadiums, pools, gyms, skate parks, gymnastics programs, theatres and other facilities throughout Victoria and New South Wales.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 
1. Management of Gymnastics Business Accountabilities: 

  • Lead and grow the gymnastics program as a thriving business, driving participation, building loyalty and achieving strong commercial outcomes.
  • Drive program utilisation by maximising class occupancy, waitlists and scheduling efficiency.
  • Actively monitor program performance metrics (e.g. enrolments, occupancy rates, cancellations, retention trends) and implement strategies to improve outcomes.
  • Identify and deliver growth opportunities, including new programs, pathways, events and community engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of enrolment systems and data integrity to support reporting, decision-making and revenue optimisation.
  • Contribute to budgeting processes and take accountability for meeting agreed financial and participation targets.
  • Continuously review program offerings to ensure they remain competitive, sustainable and aligned with market demand.

 
2. Leadership of the Gymnastics Teams 

  • Inspire and guide a high-performing gymnastics team, building capability, strengthening culture and driving outstanding performance.
  • Build a high-performing, accountable team culture that prioritises safety, customer experience and continuous improvement.
  • Plan and deliver structured and ongoing staff development, including coaching capability, compliance, and service standards.
  • Clearly delegate responsibilities while holding team members accountable for outcomes and behaviours.
  • Proactively manage performance, including coaching, recognition and addressing underperformance.
  • Foster a high-performance leadership environment by actively identifying, mentoring and developing future program leaders, ensuring capability and succession planning aligns with Annual Business Plans and organisational growth objectives

3. Program Leadership & Development 

  • Lead the design, development and continuous improvement of the gymnastics program to meet participation and engagement objectives.
  • Plan and optimise class schedules, programs and events to align with demand and maximise accessibility.
  • Ensure all program content meets industry standards, safety requirements and participant needs.
  • Introduce innovation and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance program value and appeal

4. Operational Ownership of Program Delivery 

  • Take ownership of the daily delivery and performance of the gymnastics program across all centres.
  • Provide visible, on-floor leadership and support to Gymnastics Captains and Coaches.
  • Ensure all sessions run on time, with minimal disruption and consistent quality.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and readiness across all gymnastics areas.
  • Ensure facilities are set up appropriately and operational requirements are met.
  • Coordinate with Duty Captains regarding maintenance and facility issues, ensuring timely resolution.


5. Customer Experience, Retention & Engagement: 

  • Take accountability for the overall customer experience within the gymnastics program.
  • Monitor and respond to customer feedback, identifying trends and implementing improvements.
  • Resolve customer enquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Implement strategies to improve retention, engagement and community connection.
  • Foster a welcoming, inclusive and positive program environment.

6. Cross-Team Collaboration & Alignment: 

  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Duty Captains, Customer Experience and Leadership team, to align the program activities with organisational objectives.
  • Foster effective communication and collaboration within the teams and across the organization.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and initiatives to contribute to the overall success

 
7. Health, Safety & Risk Management 

  • Take full accountability for safety within the gymnastics program.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and OH&S requirements.
  • Proactively identify, assess and manage risks through inspections and corrective actions.
  • Oversee emergency responses and evacuation processes in line with procedures.
  • Ensure all staff always follow safe work practices.

8. Everyday Excellence & Organisational Standards 

  • Champion a culture of outstanding service aligned with organisational values and the customer charter.
  • Lead by example in delivering professional, consistent and high-quality customer interactions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance customer experience and program value.

The Manager Gymnastics may also undertake regular direct service shifts and must be available to work a mixture of early morning, daytime, evening and weekend hours however the core hours will with during the week. The Manager Gymnastics may from time to time be required to undertake other tasks as directed by the Area Manager. 

Desired Skills and Experience

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience in Gymnastics Programming and Leadership
  • Suitably qualified as an Advanced Coach or willing to attain these qualifications
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Working with Children Check
