Aligned Leisure is a 100% owned subsidiary of the Richmond Football Club, established as a vehicle to manage the operations of Richmond’s health, fitness and leisure business activities. Supported by the people and business systems of the Richmond Football Club, Aligned Leisure currently operates 53 leisure centres, community stadiums, pools, gyms, skate parks, gymnastics programs, theatres and other facilities throughout Victoria and New South Wales.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Management of Swim School Business Accountabilities
- Drive the success of the Swim School by growing participation, strengthening retention and maximising program performance and delivering strong business outcomes.
- Drive program capacity and revenue by maximising lesson occupancy, waitlists and efficient use of aquatic space.
- Monitor, analyse and respond to key performance metrics including enrolments, attendance, retention, cancellations and customer trends.
- Develop and implement structured acquisition, retention and progression strategies to support sustainable program growth.
- Ensure accurate and effective management of booking systems and program data to support reporting, forecasting and decision-making.
- Contribute to and manage within agreed budgets, taking accountability for achieving financial and participation targets.
- Identify and deliver opportunities to expand programming, improve yield and enhance overall program sustainability.
2. Leadership & Delivery of Aquatic Programs
- Drive the success of Learn to Swim, School Lessons and aquatic programs, leading strong performance and high-quality delivery across Casey Leisure facilities.
- Recruit, lead and manage staff, ensuring a high-performance culture with clear accountability, development and continuous improvement.
- Ensure programs are delivered to a consistently high standard, with a strong focus on safety, quality and customer experience.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key industry bodies, partners and service providers.
- Ensure all program operations are effectively managed within agreed budgets.
- Oversee accurate and timely communication of program information across all Casey Leisure and Council channels.
- Foster a high-performance leadership environment by actively identifying, mentoring and developing future program leaders, ensuring capability and succession planning aligns with Annual Business Plans and organisational growth objectives
3. Enrolment & Participation Growth
- Drive maximum participation and lesson numbers across all aquatic programs.
- Foster a customer-centric culture that enhances student enjoyment, progression and long-term retention.
- Lead structured retention, pathway development and customer engagement initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Manager Customer & Commercial to support and deliver membership and program growth campaigns.
- Take ownership of aquatic space programming to ensure optimal balance between:
- Learn to Swim and squad programs
- Public recreation swim participation and revenue
- Group fitness aquatic programs
- Community, school and club access
4. Program & Product Development
- Maintain expert, up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, benchmarks and best practice.
- Lead the translation of industry insights into practical program improvements and innovations.
- Continuously review and enhance program offerings to remain competitive, engaging and aligned to community needs.
- Provide input into annual planning processes, including program development, service improvements and facility requirements.
- Act as the key source of expertise and leadership for Learn to Swim programs across Casey Leisure Facilities.
5. Leadership Team Contribution & Cross-Team Collaboration
- Actively contribute as a member of the Casey Leadership Team, supporting whole-of-business performance and strategic alignment.
- Collaborate effectively with Customer Experience, Duty Captains, aquatic operations teams and senior leadership to ensure program outcomes align with broader organisational objectives.
- Take ownership of clear, consistent communication across teams to support operational efficiency, program delivery and customer experience.
- Work collaboratively to optimise facility usage, programming balance and service delivery across all areas of the centre.
- Contribute to organisational planning, reporting and continuous improvement initiatives that drive both operational and commercial success.
- Role model organisational values, behaviours and service standards, ensuring these are embedded consistently across all teams.
- At all times act in the best interests of Aligned Leisure and City of Casey Council.
6. Everyday Excellence & Customer Experience
- Champion a culture of outstanding service and customer experience across all aquatic programs.
- Take ownership of identifying and delivering improvements that create positive, memorable experiences for customers.
- Ensure all team members understand and consistently deliver on the Aligned Leisure Customer Charter and service promise.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a strong commitment to professionalism, care and community outcomes
The Manager Swim School may also undertake regular direct service shifts and must be available to work a mixture of early morning, daytime, evening and weekend hours however the core hours will with during the week. The Manager Swim School may from time to time be required to undertake other tasks as directed by the Area Manager.
