Aligned Leisure is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Facilities, Safety & Environment to lead the management of facility operations, asset maintenance, safety, risk, and environmental systems across our leisure facilities.
This role is responsible for ensuring our facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards while providing safe, welcoming and exceptional environments for our customers. You will play a key leadership role in driving operational excellence, overseeing aquatic operations, asset management, facility presentation, risk management and workplace safety.
As a visible leader, you will work closely with Council representatives, contractors, community stakeholders and internal teams to ensure our facilities operate efficiently, safely and in line with contractual obligations.
Desired Skills and Experience
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management & Facility Presentation
Lead facility presentation, cleanliness and maintenance standards.
Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs.
Maintain accurate asset and maintenance records.
Conduct regular facility inspections and audits.
Liaise with Council officers and external contractors regarding maintenance and capital works.
Manage departmental budgets and reporting requirements.
Risk, Safety & Environmental Leadership
Lead occupational health and safety, risk management and environmental systems.
Develop, review and implement operational policies and procedures.
Conduct risk assessments, inspections and corrective actions.
Manage audit preparation, compliance requirements and rectifications.
Oversee incident investigations and implement preventative measures.
Ensure all staff and contractors receive appropriate inductions and training.
Ensure compliance with all aquatic safety legislation and guidelines.
Support and develop Duty Captains and operational teams.
Promote aquatic safety through customer education and communication.
Leadership & Customer Experience
Model Aligned Leisure's values and behaviours.
Contribute to the leadership team and organisational culture.
Drive exceptional customer experiences and service standards.
Maintain a visible presence across facilities and support operational requirements when required.

Experience in facilities, aquatic operations, asset management or safety management.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
Aquatic Technical Operations qualification.
Current or willingness to obtain:
First Aid
CPR
Lifeguard Qualification
Working with Children Check
Police Check
Experience in aquatic operations and asset management.
