ABOUT THE ROLE:

Working as part of the Richmond Football Club People & Culture team, the Senior People & Culture Advisor – Aligned Leisure will closely assist the People & Culture Manager in the day-to-day operations of the HR function for Aligned Leisure. With a proven background in employee relations, they will assist the Aligned Leisure People & Compliance team with daily HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, culture and engagement, and learning and development for a team of close to 2,000 employees. As the Senior Advisor, they will work closely with the People & Culture Manager to guide and develop the People & Compliance team members at each contract site to maintain daily operations and compliance with industry and legislative requirements.

 

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coach the local Aligned Leisure P&C team through complex employee relations items. 
  • Interpret and provide guidance on matters relating to the relevant industry awards (Fitness Industry and Children Services)
  • Provide advice to leaders in line with our core values and Fair Work principles.
  • Act as the go-to person for handling queries regarding our systems (Deputy, ELMO, LITMOS and HR Onboard).
  • Assist in recruitment of senior level positions.
  • Support the local Aligned Leisure P&C team through payroll processes while ensuring high levels of attention to detail.
  • Oversee the system and processes responsible for maintaining employee qualification requirements in line with industry and legislative regulations.
  • Assist our leaders in creating action plans from annual engagement surveys.
  • Be the P&C contact for new transitions which requires a strong change management mindset.
  • Onboard new employees which include creating contracts, setting up employees in our systems and inducting them.

Desired Skills and Experience

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Formal qualifications in HR, Business, or other related degree.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Human Resources or People role with demonstrated responsibility in business partnering and/or people operational coaching and support.
  • Strong ER / IR skills, with proven experience of working through complex cases and excellent knowledge of current Australian Employment Law and Legislation.
  • Experience working with diverse communities in a supportive and understanding way
  • Demonstrated experience in and knowledge of HR management and relevant legislation.
  • Strong ability in learning new HR systems (Deputy, ELMO and LITMOS).
  • An understanding of working in a matrix system across multiple sites and the ability to travel to them when needed.
  • Experience in the fitness industry is desirable but not required.
